Roper Funeral home & Crematory of Jasper announces the arrangements for Mrs. Genita Padgett Gravley, age 61 of Talking Rock, who passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Royce Gravley; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer Gravley and Matt Dube and Sharon and Scotty Roland; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Everett Kilgore; and grandchildren Tyler, Emily and James Roland.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, from Salem Baptist Church with the Revs. Gene Childers, and Buck Parker officiating. Interment followed in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Vernon “Bud” Chumley, age 66 of Jasper, Ga., died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at his residence.
Born August 12, 1946, in Dawson County, Ga., he was the son of the late Garnett and Lula Simonds Chumley. Mr. Chumley worked as a crew leader for the City of Jasper.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Chumley; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Kelly Chumley; daughters and sons-in-law, Angelina and David Collis and Christy and Norris Osborn; sisters, Bernice Fountain and Vernette Jarrett; brothers, Charles, Ronnie, Johnny, Donnie, Lawrence and Randy; grandchildren, Alyssa, Conner and Buddy Chumley and Leah and Katie Collis; and aunts and uncles, Betty Roland, Arthur Lee Simonds, Leroy Simonds and Mozelle Nickel. Nieces and nephews also survive.
At his request, Mr. Chumley was cremated following the visitation. The family asks that donations be made to Roper Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
Jonathan David Hatch, age 60 of Ball Ground, passed away at his residence on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.
Survivors include his mother, Allene Hatch, Ball Ground; sons, Joshua Hatch, Woodstock, and Christian Hatch, Cartersville; and brother, Frank Hatch, Ball Ground. Two grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Clyde Boling and Danny Hyatt officiating. Interment followed in Mica Baptist Church Cemetery. www.darbyfuneralhome.com
Mrs. Arminda Pendley, age 73 of Ball Ground, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Emory University Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, John Pendley, Ball Ground; daughters, Vanda Winfrey and Cynthia Wilkie, both of Free Home; and brother, Jr. Ingram, Nelson. Eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m, Friday, Sept. 14, from Free Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Autry Dean and Wade Grant officiating. Interment followed at Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bryan Ridings, Tony and Trevor Wilkie, Shane Dobson, Ryan Spivey, Josh Winfrey, Larry Holden and Buster Ingram. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
