C.W. Logan
Mr. Claude Wesley  “C.W.” Logan, age 68 of Talking Rock, Ga., died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., following a period of declining health.
Born August 23, 1943, in Gilmer County, Ga., he was the son of the late Marcus Lee Logan and Opal Inez Taylor Logan. Mr. Logan was owner/ operator of C.W. Logan Construction Company and was a member of the Whitestone Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Nell Logan, Talking Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Carl Bledsoe, Marble Hill, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Cassie Logan, Greg and Andrea Logan and Shane and Rebecca Logan, all of Jasper; grandchildren, Ashley and Will Logan, Logan and Madison Raye, Joe, Carter and Sam Logan and Laney Bledsoe; mother-in-law, Katie Hensley, Talking Rock; sisters, Minnie Easley, Ellijay, and Gail Pettigrew, Jasper; and brothers, Cliff Logan, Talking Rock, Ronnie Logan, Calhoun, Ga., and Wayne Logan, Jasper, Ga. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 17,  from the Whitestone Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Johnson and John Cline officiating. Interment followed in  Whitestone Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements and services were entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory of Jasper.

 

Emmett Kent
Mr. Emmett Harley Kent, age 86 of Dawsonville, Ga., died Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Heritage Healthcare of Blue Ridge.
Born July 20, 1926, in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Jim and Nancy Padgett Kent. Mr. Kent was a laborer for Georgia Marble.
Survivors include his daughter, Lorene Kent Duncan, Dawsonville; son, EJ Kent, Dawsonville; brother, Gene Kent, Dawsonville; and grandchild, John Blackwell, Cartersville. Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Kent was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Estelle Tatum Kent.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 19, from Corinth Baptist Church with the Revs. Gary Keown and Shannon Westbrook officiating. Interment followed at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Arrangements and services entrusted to Roper Funeral Home & Crematory of Jasper.

 

Sandra Brown
Mrs. Sandra Ellen Brown, age 56 of Jasper, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leao Tinsley; and sons, Jamie and Shane Jordan;
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brandy (Wayne) Hovers, Acworth;  brother, Ronnie (Linda) Tinsley, Jasper; sister, Lynne (Tim) Rittenberry, Rome; grandchildren, Corey Hightower, Madison, Katlyn, Alexis, Heather and Haley Hovers and Cole, Logan, Mason, Savannah and Luke Jordan; and great-grandchild, Gabriella Hernandez.
The funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 18, at Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Richardson officiating. Interment followed in Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Talking Rock.

Edith Brendal
Mrs. Edith Brendal, 92, of Blarsville, Ga Formerly of Tate, Ga passed away August 14, 2012 at her residence.
Survivors include her Son & Daughter-in-law; David & Jan Brendal of McDonough, Ga, Daughters & Sons-in-law; Hilda & Perry Stancil of Blarsville, Ga & Janie & Leon Watkins of Ellijay, Ga, 8 Grandchildren, 10 great-Grandchildren & numerous Nieces and Nephews.
The Funeral Service was held 11 am Friday, Aug. 17, at The Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Merritt officiating. The interment followed directly after at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The following served as pallbearers; Pat Stancil, Mark and Steve Brendal, Shane and Chance Stancil & Ray Lipocky.

Doyce Neighbors    
Mr. Doyce Neighbors, age 82 of Jasper, passed away at his residence Friday night, Aug. 17, 2012.
He is survived by his Wife; Rhoda Neighbors of Jasper, 2 Sons; & Daughter-in-law; Joel & Jane Neighbors of Jasper & Hank Neighbors of Jasper, 1 Daughter& Son-in-law; Tish & Patrick Dallas of Kennesaw, 1 Brother & Sister-in-law; Larry & Melba Neighbors of Jasper, 1 Sister; Nina Buchanan of Jasper, Sister-in-law; Bettie Neighbors, Helen & Tony Hermel & Mary McConnel. 5 Grandchildren; Josh, Shelly, Connor, Ashley, Kayleigh. 4 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces & Nephews.
The Funeral Service was held 3 pm Sunday, Aug 19, at The Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home, with Revs. Joey DuBois, Grant Wade & Lamar Cantrell officiating. The Interment followed directly after at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, with Closing prayer by Jeff Patterson.
The following served as pallbearers; John & Van Dorsey, Wayne Neighbors, Dickey Patterson, Walker Shealey & Jesse Haygood. The Family did accept flowers but prefer donations to Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to the Joy House.

Mrs. Annie Ruth Taylor, age 65 of Albany, formerly of Jasper, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at her residence.
She is survived by 2 Sons & Daughters-in-law; Michael & Teresa Taylor of Talking Rock, Mitchell & Debra Taylor of Baker County, 2 Daughters & Sons-in-law; Tammy & Shorty Cross of Albany, Grady Sue & Donald Allen of Jasper, 3 Sisters & Brother-in-law; Odell Evans of Chatsworth, Frances Masters of Ellijay, Betty & Ernest Gibbs of Mineral Bluff, 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren; Many Friends & Loved Ones.
