Patricia Jordan

Ms. Patricia Diane Jordan, age 61 of Collinsville, Al., formerly of Ball Ground, Ga., passed away Monday, May 7, 2012.

Born on Dec. 3, 1951, in Cherokee County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Betty Voyles Jordan. Ms. Jordan last worked as a custodian at R.M. Moore Elementary School in Cherokee County. She was also a member of Sharp Mountain Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Christy Easterwood, Jasper, and Amy Easterwood, Collinsville; brother, Glenn “Spud” Jordan, Ball Ground; grandsons, Morgan, Marcus and Micah, all of Collinsville; and aunts, Ruth Darby and Wylene Jones, both of Ball Ground. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12,  from Sharp Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. George Hillhouse officiating. The family received friends immediately following the memorial service at the church. The family did accept flowers but request that donations be made for the final expenses of Patricia Jordan, c/o Spud Jordan, 720 Sharp Mountain Rd. S., Ball Ground, Ga. 30107. Danny Raffield

Mr. Danny Lamar Raffield, age 58, of Jasper, Ga., passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, at his home following a period of declining health.

Born on Oct. 8, 1953, in Bibb County, Ga., Mr. Raffield was the son of the late James Laurice Raffield and Retha Courson Raffield. He worked in maintenance at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.

He is survived by his sons, Adam Raffield, Acworth, Ga., and Kirk Raffield, Jasper; brother, James Raffield, Jr., Ashville, N.C.; half-sisters, Brenda Raffield and Kay Raffield, both of Fitzgerald, Ga.; and step-mom, Lorretta Raffield, Fitzgerald, Ga.

A memorial service was held at noon on Saturday, May 12,  from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse Posey and Bro. Villers Fitzgerald officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family had requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and brought to the memorial service.  Danny’s son Kirk presented these donations Saturday at the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Mary McFarland

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McFarland, age 73 of Dawsonville, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, at her daughter’s residence, in Forsyth County.

Survivors include her son, Daniel McFarland, Ellijay; daughter, Janet Smith, Forsyth County; brother, Edward Mealer, Fl.; sister, Louise Brawner, Henry County; four grandchildren, John and David Brown and Danielle and Cheyenne McFarland; and great-grandchildren, Skylah Jade Satterfield and Dakota Chance Brown. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Chaplain Steve Stevers officiating. Interment followed at Burnt Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: John and David Brown, Daniel McFarland, Randy Brawner, Mike Mealer and Matthew Bennett.

Kenneth Buchanan

Mr. Kenneth Buchanan, age 82 of Jasper, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, at his daughter’s residence in the Hill City Community of Jasper.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Cindy Little and Robin and Randy Ramey, all of Jasper; and sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Windy Holmes, Jasper. Seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Buchanan; daughter, Karen Buchanan; and sister, Faye Qualls.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Bishop Lance Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Cody and  Daulton Reeves, Will Ramey, Kyle Haradon, Jacob Bryant and Mike Kimbrell.

Pete Uzzi

Mr. Pete Uzzi, age 65 of Marble Hill, Ga., passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Statia Uzzi, Marble Hill; father, Dominick Uzzi, San Antonio, Tx.; daughters and sons-in-law, Nicole and Carlos Meza, Marietta, Ga., Echo and Jimmy Uzzi-Owens, Woodstock, Ga., and Brandy Uzzi and Ryan Holt, Marietta; brother, Richard Uzzi, San Antonio, Tx.; and sisters, Lori Uzzi, Coral Springs, Fl., and Karen Hubbs, San Antonio, Tx. Eight grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
