Obituaries for December 22, 2011; Bonnie Stone, Estelle Mullins, Joan Mayfield, Nancy Knight

Bonnie Stone

Mrs. Bonnie Mae Stone, age 83 of Jasper, Ga., passed Sunday morning, Dec. 11, 2011, at Northside Hospital-Cherokee, Canton, Ga.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Fields and Pat and Charles Holmes, all of Jasper; and grandsons, John Edison, Jr., Woodstock, and Joel Fields, Acworth. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Minister Fred Curtis officiating. Interment followed in Mountain Cemetery with Tommy, Travis and Jeff McDaniel, Johnny King, Bradley Ray and Jerry Goble serving as pallbearers.

Estelle Mullins

Mrs. Estelle Mullins, age 80 of the Pleasant  Hill Community, passed at her residence Thursday evening, Dec. 15, 2011.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Sherry Mullins and Ronnie and Kathy Mullins, all of the Pleasant Hill Community; brothers, Claude Miller, Fairmount, Herbert Miller, Ryo Community, and J.B. Miller, Douglasville, Ga.; and sister, Adar Miller, Douglasville, Ga. Nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse Posey officiating. Interment followed in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery with Phillip Mullins, Bob Riley, Greg Hammontree, Joey Godfrey, Shane Harwood and Chris Eaton serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Mullins, Brett Riley and Seth and Eli Godfrey. Cagle Funeral Home, Jasper, in charge of arrangements.

Joan Mayfield

Mrs Joan Mayfield, age 62 of Dawson County, passed early Friday morning, Dec. 16, 2011, at Embracing Hospice, Cumming, Ga.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Mayfield, Dawson County; mother, Eunice Chumley, Dawsonville, Ga.; sons, Joey Walden, Jasper, and Benji Mayfield, Dawson County; daughter, Stacey Lathem, Pikeville, Tn.; brothers, Larry Chastain, Turtletown, Tn., and Barry Chastain, Dawson County; and sisters, Cindy Boothe, Marble Hill, and Shelia Beck, Jasper. Two grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives.

The funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Tod McGhee, Greg Bryant and Buck Parker officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Jeremy Jordan, David Cagle, Benny Chester, Tracy Chumley, Andy Fincher, Randy Jordan, Keegan Boothe and Jason Mayfield serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Swafford and Gary  Bruce. The family requests that in place of flowers memorials may be made to Cagle Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.

Nancy Knight

Mrs Nancy Knight, age 74 of Ball Ground, Ga.,  passed Saturday evening, Dec. 17, 2011, at the Brian Center, Canton,Ga.

Survivors include her sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace Moss, Fayetteville, Ga., Caroline and Steve Greiner, Talking Rock, and Jo and Rick Leverett, Jasper. Several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with th Rev. Russell Murdock officiating. Interment  followed in West View Cemetery in Atlanta, Ga. The family did accept flowers but would prefer that memorials be made to Cagle Funeral Home to assist with the Funeral expenses.
