Mrs Irene Cain Eaton, age 87 of Dalton and formerly of Tate, Ga. passed Sunday evening, Oct. 2, 2011, at Regency Park Nursing Home, Dalton.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy E. and Jerry Manis, Dalton; sisters, Betty Simpson, Acworth, and Wilma Spriggs, Woodstock; and grandchildren, Robbie and Missy Eaton, Waleska, Chris and Rhonda Eaton, Jasper, and Chris and Greg Manis, Dalton. Four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Sam Harbin and Lee Roy Kelley officiating. Interment followed in the Hinton Community Cemetery with Dean and Terry Cantrell, Jack Owens, Garret Smith, Cameron Eaton and Bill Cain serving as pallbearers. Mrs Clara Kilgore, age 74 of Talking Rock, passed Sunday evening, Oct. 2, 2011, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, Jasper.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Eva McClure, Jonesboro,Ga.; daughters, Cindy and Lisa Moore, Amy Griffin and Sharlene Kilgore, all of Talking Rock; grandsons, Caleb and Nathan Howard; granddaughters, Jennifer Morrow, Jessica Johnson, and Jessica Holden; and great-granddaughter, Amberly Pritchett. Mrs Kilgore was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Kilgore; and grandson, Cameron McClure.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Moore officiating. Interment followed in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. Pallbearers were: Jesse Lewis, Jordon Kendrick, Cody Millsap, Zack Sundell and James Lester.
Mr. James Wingo, age 76 of Jasper, passed early Tuesday morning, Oct. 4, 2011, at Heritage Health Care, Jasper.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Wingo, Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, Garry and Chris Wingo, Epworth, Ga., and Grubby and Ruthanna Wingo, Tate; daughter, Ginger Rudy, Atlanta; grandchildren, Amanda Champion, Valerie Wingo and Nick Rudy; and great-grandson, Ethan Champion.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Grant officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Eugene Cline, Jerry Woodall, Tim Storey, Rick Jarrett, Paul Daly and Gene Taylor serving as pallbearers.
Chad Moser, Jr.
Charles E. “Chad” Moser, Jr., age 76 of Jasper, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Decatur, Ga., after a short illness.
Mr. Moser was born in Glen Cove, N.Y., on June 20, 1935. He was the son of the late Charles E. Moser, Sr. and Frances Purtell Nolan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Russell Nolan; and his daughter, Debbie Bechtel-Forgiel.
Mr. Moser was a charter member of the Young Marines, a former Connecticut State Commandant of the Marine Corps League and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family in Jasper. Mr. Moser was a veteran of the United States Marines from 1953 to 1956, having served during the Korean Conflict. Up until the time of his death, Mr. Moser worked as a VRI Resort manager at Big Canoe.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dottie Moser, Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel C. Moser and Maria de Leon, Ft. Myers, Fl.; half sister, Veronica Humes, Tucson, Az.; half brothers, Jim Nolan, Cleveland, Ga., Tom “Butch” Moser, Boynton Beach, Fl., and Edward “Skip” Moser, Delray Beach, Fl; grandchildren, Toby Whitbeck and Amber and Danielle Bechtel; and great-grandchild, Riley Bechtel.

Mrs. Bessie Mae Jordan Holcomb, age 83 of Ball Ground, passed away early Saturday morning at Grandview Health Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady P. Holcomb; and son, Gary Holcomb.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Shirley Holcomb, Perry and Sharon Holcomb and Brenda Holcomb, all of Ball Ground; grandchildren, Christy and Keith Allen, Brett and Ashley Holcomb and Shannon and Chanell Holcomb, all of Ball Ground; and great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ty Allen and Aiden, Landon, Tanner and Bryson Holcomb.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with the Revs. James Rich and Greg Hamilton officiating. Interment followed in the Ball Ground Church Cemetery.
Miss Martha Ramona Wilkie, age 75 of Dawsonville, formerly of Florida, passed away Oct. 7, 2011, at the New Horizon Nursing Home in Gainesville.
Born Nov. 22, 1935, in Dawsonville, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Garnie and Clifford Cox Wilkie.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Bernice Wilkie, Dawsonville; nephews, Brian Wilkie and Preston Wilkie and wife Misty; aunts, Willie Grace Mullinax and Helen Densmore, both of Jasper; and uncle, W.R. Wilkie. Six great-nieces and nephews also survive.
At her request, Miss Wilkie was cremated and a memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, from Corinth Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Bottoms and Preston Wilkie officiating. Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Marion C. (Mac) McDaniel, age 84 of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pope McDaniel of Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Gussie Plummer; two brothers, Herman and Charles; and one son, David.
Mac graduated from Tucker High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He graduated from Abraham Baldwin College and the University of Georgia where he earned a Master’s in School Administration. He taught and coached basketball for many years in Taliaferro and Gwinnett counties. He was a school principal in Gwinnett, Oglethorpe, White and Pickens counties before retiring with 37 years in education.
He served as president of the Kiwanis Club while in White County and president of the Lions Club in Jasper. While president of the Lions Club, he was instrumental in establishing a very active Lioness Club.
Mac is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Akin McDaniel; son, Steven, and his wife, Tammie; daughter, Susan, and her husband, Edward Johnson; daughter, Marcia McDaniel; and daughter-in-law, Jean McDaniel Fowler. He is also survived by one grandson, four granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Jasper First Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Lewis and Rev. Von Hinton officiating. The interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jasper First Baptist Church Building Fund 198 E. Church Street, Jasper, Ga. 30143 or to the Joy House.
