Mr Phillip Butt, age 62 of Tate, Ga., passed at his residence Sunday evening, August 14, 2011.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Grant Butt, Tate; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Alisha Butt, Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sheila Butt, Jonesboro,Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Steve Perry, Dillard, Ga.; brother-in-law, Alan Franks, Gainesville, Ga.; and grandsons, Elijah and Ethan Butt. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Wednesday August 17, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Infinger officiating. Entombment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum. Pallbearers were: Steve Perry, Brock Kelley, David Young, Eric, Wesley and Jim Grno. The family did accept flowers; however, they would prefer that memorials be made to Pickens County Animal Shelter, Jasper, Ga. 30143.
Miss Brenda Woodward, age 63 of Pickens County, passed early Tuesday morning, August 16, 2011, at Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton, Ga.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, William and Dorothy Woodward, Dahlonega,Ga.; sister, Linda Woodward, Woodstock; and aunts and uncles, Mary and Pin Kuo, Canton, Donal and Nancy Dorsey, Talking Rock, and Tommy and Linda Dorsey, Douglasville, Ga. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The funeral service was held Thursday, August 18, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. David Cooper officiated. Interment followed in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with the nephews and cousins serving as pallbearers. Pallbearers were: Allen, Marty and John Dorsey, Robin and Peter Darnell and Joe and Carter Logan.
Mrs, Edna James, age 94 of Marble Hill, Ga., passed Thursday morning, August 18, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the Marble Hill Baptist Church for over 56 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rembert James; and two daughters, Marjorie and Lucy James.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Lynn James and Phillip James, all of Marble Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue James, Lois and Tyre Ridings, Mary Ann and Cotton Bozeman and Eliza and Larry Ray, all of Marble Hill; brother, Eugene Jones, Alpharetta; sister-in-law, Vera Jones, Canton; grandchildren Rebecca Lambert, Melissa Payne, Jennifer Fellenbaum, Michael James, Brett Bozeman and Amanda Clayton; great- grandchildren, Ethan Gibson, Jacob Lambert, Justin Fellenbaum, Timothy and Colby James, Raychel Clayton, Lilly James and Joshua Clayton; and special niece, Louise Brown. Other nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Sunday, August 21, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Harold Bottoms and Mike Mize officiated. Interment followed in the Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery with Mike James, Kenny Payne, Ken Lambert, Brady Clayton, Ron Fellenbaum, Robert Brown, Gary Ledford and Brett Bozeman serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Elizabeth Howard Weir, age 87 of Jasper, Ga., died Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., following a period of declining health.
Born April 23, 1924, in Florence, Al., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dewey and Zada Rosella McMeans Howard. Mrs. Weir graduated from David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tn. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and taught children in the Church of Christ. Mrs. Weir was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Jasper.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Tom Weir, Jasper; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Larry Morris, Grayson, Ga., and Susan and Gary Ross, Douglasville, Ga.; and son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Charlene Weir, Roswell, Ga. Six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Terry Burress and Harold Savage officiating. Interment followed at 1 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga. Pallbearers were: Gary and Luke Ross, Larry Morris, Ken Pope, Lloyd Ferrell and Bill Horton. Flora Gunter Ledrew, age 90 of Ball Ground, Ga., died Sunday July 3, 2011.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Gunter, Ball Ground, and Bobby Gunter, Ellijay, Ga.; daughters, Gila Hammontree, Jasper, Ga., Sherry Gamble, Orlando, Fl., Peggy Page, Turks and Caicos and Vicki McGhee, Ball Ground; and sisters, Evelyn Coker, Roswell, Ga., Bessie Mae Brown, Talking Rock, Ga., and Ella V. Coleman, Woodstock, Ga. Fifteen grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren also survive. She was predeceased by daughter, Joan Merrill.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, from the Chapel of Darby Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Henderson officiating. Interment was in Macedonia Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Cure It For Kids, P.O. Box 554, Ball Ground, Ga. 30107.
