Kaleb Jasyn Hatch-Troville, age 7 months of Ball Ground, Ga., died Thursday March 2, 2011.
Survivors include his mother, Emily Hatch, Ball Ground; father, Bryant Troville, Ball Ground; grandparents, Frank and Jimmie Lynn Hatch, Ball Ground, Bruce and Lorie Troville, Cumming, Ga., and Nannette and Michael Lane, Pelzer, S.C.; great-grandparents, Allene Hatch, Ball Ground, Loretta Walker, Hiram, Ga., Gwendolyn Troville, St Albans, Vt., Virginia Bradshaw, Cumming, Ga., and Ralph and Rose Slay, Layton, Ut.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, from the First Baptist Church, Canton, with the Revs. Shawn Finch and Chris Page officiating. Interment followed in Mica Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ronald Timothy “Tim” Lumpkin of Ball Ground, Ga., loving husband, father, son, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at home after a brave three year battle with cancer. His family and friends surrounded him in his last days.
Tim was the son of J.J. and Floetta Lumpkin of Ball Ground. He is a graduate of Cherokee High School class of 1972. He also attended Piedmont College. Tim worked as a production mechanic for over 30 years. He was employed by Boyle-Midway in Chamblee, Ga., Piedmont Laboratories in Cumming, Ga., and Centennial Farms Dairy/Kroger in Atlanta, Ga., until 2008. He enjoyed camping, hiking, hunting and fishing.
Tim is survived by his wife, Susan Ramsey Lumpkin; his children, Britton Cody, Zachary Ray, Zoe Autumn and Zana Katherine Lumpkin. He is also survived by his older brother, Jeff Lumpkin, Kyles Ford, Tn., and his twin brother, Robert Thomas “Tom” Lumpkin, also of Ball Ground; niece, Sarah Lumpkin Wyatt, and his great-nephew, Wallace Austin Wyatt, Greeneville, N.C.; and nephew, Jon Denney Lumpkin, Canton, Ga.
A celebration of his life was held Thursday, March 10, from Cool Springs Baptist Church in Tate at 2 p.m. If desired, donations can be made to The Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research found at www.rallyfoundation.com or http:// www.active.com/donate/jumpingforjacob. This foundation raises awareness and research funds for the children’s cancer research. Jacob is a friend of Tim’s daughter Zana who were both born with Down syndrome.
Mr. Kenneth Joseph Elrod, age 72 of Waleska, Ga., passed away on March 6, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Elrod. Survivors include children, Kenny (Melinda) Elrod, Rome, Sharon (Lamar) Stephenson and Shelia (Jeff) Garrett, all of Jasper; and siblings, Trammel, Doyle and Leon Rhodes, all of Waleska, and Carson Rhodes, Ball Ground Nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, from the Rock of Ages Baptist Church with Brother Shane Stephenson and the Revs. J.R. Smith and Robert Jarvis officiating. Interment followed at Briar Patch Cemetery.
Mr. Loye Albert Caylor, age 82 of the Jerusalem Community in Pickens County, Ga., departed this life Wednesday morning, March 9, 2011, at Heritage Healthcare in Blue Ridge, Ga. Mr. Caylor was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Pickens County, a son of the late Isaac Newton and Mary Pearl McGaha Caylor. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Louise Jones and Dora Mullins; and brothers, Clyde, Herbert, Ernest, Hardy, Hoyt and Lloyd Caylor. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dessa Edwards Caylor; son, John W. Caylor; daughter and son-in-law, Geri and Jim Kelley, all of the Jerusalem Community; grandchildren, John M. Caylor and wife Nicole, Kristi Kelley Payne and husband Adam, Mindi Kelley Craig and her husband Brian and Ginger Leanne and Julie Adrienne Caylor; and great-grandchildren, Alison Payne, Samantha Payne and Ella Blair Craig. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate his life was held Friday, March 11, at 2 p.m. from the Fairmount Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Revs. Randy Cloer and Buck Rampley officiating. He was laid to rest at Hinton Community Cemetery in Pickens County with Richard Boutwell, Jerry Edwards, Bobby Durham, Corey Pittman, Adam Payne and Brian Craig serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Jean McNeal, age 68 of Jasper, passed away late Friday night, March 11, 2011, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
Survivors include her husband, John McNeal, Jasper; son, Sean McNeal, Woodstock; daughters, Cynthia Thurman, Winder, Stephanie Highsmith and Janet Goade, both of Jasper, and Lora Valdez, Auburn, Ga.; and sisters, Nell Ellis, Covington, and June Chambers, Canton. Ten grandchildren and one great-child also survives.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 14, from Jasper United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chip Wilson officiating. Interment followed in Jasper City Cemetery. The family did accept flowers or you make donations to Jasper UMC. Pallbearers were: Josh and Tony Valdez, Nathan Highsmith, Gary Thurman and Mark and Bobby Chambers. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lois Silver Taylor, age 89 of Jasper, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Grandview Health Care in Jasper.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Shirley Taylor, Jasper; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Phillips, Brenda and Earl Brooks and Gail and William Dilbeck, all of Jasper; and sisters, Annie Goss, Marietta, Florence Godfrey, Fairmount, Flora Holland, Dallas, and Eulene Honea, Cumming. Twelve grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Taylor; and brothers, Jasper, Sherman, Thurman, Gene and Junior.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Dr. Don Parker officiating. Interment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were: Carl Taylor, Brad and Blake Brooks, Shane Neighbors, Tyler Brooks, Ryan Chastain, Cody Goode and Bryson Timms.
