    Don’t miss Jason Clark with Southeastern Snake Encounter at the Pickens County Library at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15.

Live Snakes @ Southeastern Snake Encounter
    This is one event that you won’t want to miss! Snakes of all kinds are coming to the library this Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m. Southeastern Reptile Rescue will teach us about different snakes and reptiles in this fun and educational program. Live snakes will be present. Children of all ages are invited to attend; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult. This program is sponsored by the Jasper Lions Club.

SRC Kick-Off with Juggler Adam Boehmer
    Calling all kids! Today, Thursday, June 6, at 2 p.m. come and see juggler extraordinaire Adam Boehmer perform his mind-boggling feats and tricks as he helps us celebrate the beginning of the Summer Reading Club. As a member of the famous Boehmer Family Jugglers, Adam has traveled extensively throughout the world, performing on television and during NBA halftime games. This program is sponsored by the Optimist Club of Jasper.

Ebook Class
    If you have a new Kindle or tablet and aren’t sure how to use it as a reader, join us on Monday, June 10, at 2 p.m. Adults are invited to attend this introductory class on downloading ebooks from the library. Before attending, please make sure that your library card is up-to-date and that you have a library PIN number. Registration is required and open at this time.

READing Paws with Abby
    Registration for children to read to Abby during her visit on Monday, June 10, at 3:30 p.m., is open at this time. There are four 15-minute sessions during her visits. Reading to Abby can help struggling readers improve their reading skills in a non-judgmental setting. For more information please contact the Pickens County Library at 706-692-5411.

Are You a  Dragonfly?
    Join us on Tuesday, June 11, at 10:30 a.m. as Kevin Smith of the Upper Etowah River Alliance teaches us about the life cycle of a dragonfly using the book Are You a Dragonfly? Afterwards, participants will construct their own colorful dragonfly. This program is for ages 5-8. Registration is required and is open at this time.

Story Times
    Don’t miss Lapsit with Miss Olivia on Wednesday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m. Lapsit story time is designed for children ages 1-3. Family Story Time is also on Wednesday, June 12; however, it is in the afternoon at 3. The theme is Digging Up Dinosaurs. Family Story Time includes a craft project. All ages are invited.
What is Soil?
    Join us on Thursday, June 13, at 3 p.m. as we host the Pickens County Master Gardeners for a series of educational programs. This program will teach youth about soil composition using fun foods like peanut butter, cookies, and sugar. Attendees will also make plant pots out of newspapers. All materials will be provided and children of all ages are invited to attend. Registration is required and is open at this time.

Duct Tape Workshop for Teens
    Back by popular demand, teens will let their imaginations run wild in making whatever they can imagine out of duct tape on Monday, June 17, at 4 p.m. All materials will be provided. Registration is required and is open at this time.

Finger-painting Fun!
    This popular program for the youngest folks returns this summer! On Tuesday, June 18, at 10:30 a.m., toddlers and preschoolers are invited to get creative with finger-paints in this craft program. Washable tempera paint will be used so children can make wonderful works of art. All materials will be provided. Come wearing play clothes as the fun could get messy! This program is designed for children ages 5 and under.
