March 9 road race to benefit Good Shepherd Ranch

On March 9, R&R Body Shop will sponsor a 5K race to benefit the children at The Good Shepherd Ranch, a faith-based ministry that offers residential, family-style living for at-risk boys. The race will begin at  9 a.m. and registration will begin at  8.  The race will be held at R&R Body Shop, 3255 Refuge Road, Jasper; 706-692-2088.

There will be awards for overall men and women and 5 age groups. All pre-registered runners will receive a T-shirt.

The Good Shepherd Ranch is licensed by the State of Georgia to provide care for boys who are dealing with their sense of abandonment, depression, misplaced anger and stress - kids in survival mode who can’t focus on the present or the future.

The Good Shepherd Ranch, 601 Moore Road, will have a safe place to heal and people that love them, even when they express misdirected anger. They will have activities that help them to channel their energy and gain self confidence. They will hear, over and over again, that God loves them and God forgives whatever they have done in the past or may be doing in the present or will do in the future. They will be surrounded by staff and volunteers who model God’s love and forgiveness.
