The construction of Grandview Lake in the 1940s. Work is beginning on a Pickens County history book which will be available by Christmas 2015. We are seeking from the public photographs that would be good for the pictorial history. The book will contain more than 250 photographs in 96 pages.
This book will be bound with an attractive, hard cover, making it heirloom quality.

If you have any pictures of Pickens County, Georgia that can be identified to have been taken from the 1800s to 1990s, we would like for you to loan them to us for printing in A Pictorial History of Pickens County, Georgia. Please mail in your photos with information attached (who, where, when and what is going on. See form below. Or drop by our office and fill out a photo information form for the pictures submitted. Be sure to place your name, address and phone number on the back of each photo so it can be returned after the book is completed. >
A few tips on photos submissions:
1. We prefer photos that can be identified to some degree as in a shot of Main Street, Jasper from the 1950s.
2. Do not send more than 5 photos.
3. DO NOT send an originl/irreplaceable copy of anything. Have a copy made and send the copy -- even with the best intentions, things do get lost.
