      Fran Fish

Fran M. Fish of South Sioux City, Ne., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 18, 2010, at the age of 68 in her home surrounded by her family. Fran, or “Mama” as she was known to her grandkids, was born on Sept. 29, 1942, in Columbus, Oh. to her parents, Raymond and Valencia (Gibson) Fife. Fran attended grade school in the Columbus and Mt. Vernon area where she grew up as a child.

She ventured to Evangel College in Springfield, Mo., where she met her loving husband Jerry Fish. Fran became Mrs. Fran Fish on Aug. 23, 1963, at the First Assembly of God church in Sioux City. She and Jerry began their life together in Springfield, Mo., continuing onto Kansas City, where they had their first daughter, Missy. They moved to Jasper, Ga., where they lived for 14 years and had their two youngest daughters, Tammy and Stacey. The Fish family moved to Sioux City in 1982 where they have resided ever since.

She was known to her grandkids as the best “Mama” anyone could ever ask for. Everything she loved incorporated her family, especially her loving husband Jerry. Many referred to her as beautiful, classy lady. Even until the end, her faith and stature did not fade. Fran will be remembered and missed by her husband of 48 years, Jerry Fish, South Sioux City.
